Master plan completed for $1 billion Medical City Project in Oman

UK's Atkins has completed a master plan for the Medical City project in Salalah. The US$1 billion project, being undertaken by Apex Medical Group, represents the largest private healthcare infrastructure development in Oman. Atkins' task to prepare the strategic master plan of the Medical City on the 800,000 square metre site, located by the Arabian Sea, in order to deliver an outstanding medical education, and research and development facility. The area surrounding the hospital will host a number of other facilities, including a hotel, spa, educational and training facilities for doctors and nurses and a well-being centre, alongside accommodation and commercial and service facilities for visitors and residents.
