Dubai GITEX Computer Shopper to set record

More than (150) exhibitors representing (500) companies are set to exhibit their wares at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) Computer Shopper 2004 in Dubai, making it the largest and most comprehensive information technology (IT) retail event in the region. The event, to be held at the Airport Expo from October 02-08, 2004 is set to break all previous Computer Shopper records. The show is also set for incremental growth of 20 per cent on last year's edition, and will showcase the latest in personal computers, laptops, printers, peripherals, gadgets and games from the world's leading manufacturers. Leading global and regional companies such as HP, Acer, Sony, Dell, Microsoft, JVC, Samsung, BenQ, Jumbo, Jacky's, Plug-Ins, Emirates Computers, CompuMe, Eros Electricals, Grand Stores and Cell-U-Com have all expanded their presence, with many deciding to participate for the first time as a partner company, rather than via their agents.
The event - which will occupy a whole hall of the enormous Airport Expo - will have on display the latest innovations in various fields, including office automation products, educational and entertainment software, Internet products, multimedia, telecommunication products, training programs, computer furniture and stationery, to name a few. Payment options have also been made simple for shoppers, with a host of on-site banking offers and easy payment facilities, credit card promotions and instant cash prizes being organised by many of the banks. This year the exhibition looks to attract more than 75,000 visitors and an even higher level of transactions.
