Dubai : 21-Aug-2004

Dubai-based Nakheel Corporation is set to launch the Dubai Design Centre (DDC) as an exclusive trade outlet for home furnishings and accessories at its International City development in Al Warsan area. DDC will be the largest development of its kind, measuring 4.2 kilometres in length and 150 metres in width, offering 5 million-square-feet of net usable prime retail and office space to traders. The centre, which is scheduled for completion in late 2006, is primarily aimed at international and local traders and individual customers from the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) looking for their home furnishing and accessories under a single roof. The centrepiece of development will be a world-class business centre that incorporates information centre and conference facilities. The node will host vast office spaces for representatives of businesses from around the world and especially from countries in Europe. The DDC features exclusive exhibition areas, where retailers can showcase or launch a new product, an extensive food court and will be serviced by internal transport. It will have a parking facility with capacity of (18,000) cars allowing access through (11) entry points; each located 250 to 500 metres apart.
